En la última semana hacia el 21 de marzo, donde la UCR elegirá la conducción partidaria de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Roberto García en su programa La Mirada, abordó el tema con uno de los candidatos, el diputado provincial Maximiliano Abad, quien consideró que la UCR debe abrazar la coalición Juntos Para el Cambio para liderarla en el futuro.
Dijo además “en los años previos al 2015, el radicalismo era un partido con poca representación territorial, pocos legisladores en el Congreso de la Nación, pocos bloques legislativos débiles en la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Había perdido algo que es central para toda organización política que pretenda transformar la realidad, que es su vocación de poder.
Y reseñó: “De tener 11 intendentes pasó a 32 y de 2 diputados nacionales a 6 bancas en la Cámara de Diputados de la Nación. Representantes en todos los concejos deliberantes y consejos escolares bonaerenses. Hoy es un partido de poder que nuevamente quiere volver a ser gobierno”.
Consideró que: “La UCR integra una alianza con partidos de oposición y construyó una coalición alternativa al gobierno actual, que es el pasado reciente que volvió. El radicalismo en el marco de esa coalición recuperó su vocación de poder. Sobre lo construido tenemos que construir el futuro del radicalismo, basado en ideas, organización, nuevos liderazgos, un partido que se abraza al futuro, a liderar la coalición y que trabaje para que volvamos a tener un presidente y un gobernador radical”.
En referencia al apoyo de candidaturas en las elecciones generales expresó: “No hay que poner el carro delante del caballo pero no eludo la definición. Nosotros estamos contentos por los acompañamientos que tenemos como Mario Negri y Luis Naidenoff, los 2 presidentes de interbloques de las legislaturas nacionales”.
Y prosiguió, “Nos acompaña una persona que no tiene arrugas en el alma como es Luis Brandoni, que nos acompañe Facundo Manes, 27 de 32 intendentes radicales de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Y en los nombres de los acompañamientos hay muchos candidatos a presidente, pero eso es una discusión que el radicalismo va a dar de cara al futuro”.
En relación al oficialismo tanto nacional como provincial sostuvo: “Concentra poder que lesiona la República, atenta contra el federalismo, defiende el feudalismo y sostiene muchas de las cosas que hemos visto mucho en estos días, que son determinantes para sacar a la Argentina del atraso y colocarla en el camino del desarrollo como mantener un año sin clases presenciales lo cual implica pérdida de calidad educativa”
“Nací en Ranchos, a 30 km de Chascomús. Mi papá es oriundo de esa localidad y desde muy chiquito mamé en mi casa la política y eso me hizo heredarla por tradición, pero adoptarla profundamente por convicción”, finalizó diciendo cuando se lo consultó sobre la cercanía de la tierra donde nació precisamente el presidente de la Nación Raúl Alfonsín.
