En el tercer parcial, los entrerrianos no fueron determinantes para sacar una ventaja demasiado importante pero volvió a tener a Grenni manejando los hilos del juego y Jara con gol penetrando y tirando a distancia. A eso, se le sumaban las acciones de sus internos extranjeros, sobre todo de Rausch. Quilmes no pudo sostener esa intensidad defensiva que le cerró los caminos al rival y eso le costaba hacerlo ante el quinteto titular de su rival. Fue el cuarto de Tirrell Brown que anotó la mayoría de los puntos de su equipo en el parcial y lo mantuvo a tiro ya que se fueron al último descanso abajo por 52 a 48.
Para el tramo final del partido, la intensidad volvió a su máxima expresión en el partido. Estudiantes se volvió a escapar a 8 aprovechando una efectividad que había recuperado y mejorando sus ataques. Ya al equipo de Gelpi las ofensivas no le fluían y tenía que forzar en reiteradas oportunidades. El partido no se había quebrado aún y la defensa le empezó a dar vida en el partido a Quilmes que lo empató en 62 a poco más de dos minutos para el final. Las respuestas las había encontrado con un perímetro muy bajo (Skidelsky-Gago-Pelorosso) y Ortiz junto a Brown en la pintura, pero no fueron suficientes. En momentos claves no pudo encontrar puntos que hubieran sido importantes y finalmente, fue derrota para los marplatenses por 68 a 64.
