El próximo 3 de abril a las 21:00 en Sala Piazzolla (Boulevard Marítimo 2280) se realizará la única presentación en la ciudad del Quinteto Astor Piazzolla. La prestigiosa agrupación ganadora del Grammy 2019 brindará un concierto dentro del ciclo “Piazzolla 100, identidad marplatense, identidad bonaerense”.
El Quinteto Astor Piazzolla está conformado por los músicos Pablo Mainetti (bandoneón), Abel Rogantini (piano), Serdar Geldymuradov (violín), Armando de La Vega (guitarra), Daniel Falasca (contrabajo) y Julián Vat (Dirección Musical).
Luego del fallecimiento del mítico bandoneonista y compositor argentino, Laura Escalada Piazzolla creó la Fundación Astor Piazzolla con el objetivo de continuar su legado y promover una nueva etapa en la difusión de su música. Con esta finalidad, en 1998 conformó el Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, integrado por cinco solistas virtuosos que comulgan estéticamente con las ideas del maestro, formados artísticamente bajo su influencia y que son los responsables de interpretar y mantener viva en la actualidad la vasta obra del compositor que revolucionó el tango.
La idea de conformar un quinteto se remonta a la agrupación más trascendente de Astor Piazzolla: su quinteto de bandoneón, violín, guitarra eléctrica, piano y contrabajo. Creado en 1960, fue su herramienta predilecta en el proceso de construcción del “Nuevo Tango”, que desarrolló durante toda esa década.
Piazzolla luego se radicó en Europa por unos años y dejó de lado transitoriamente el quinteto hasta 1978, cuando lo reunió con una nueva formación que lo acompañó hasta 1988 y que fue la que lo hizo famoso en todo el mundo. El repertorio de este nuevo quinteto se nutrió con el “Nuevo Tango” de los sesenta y composiciones que incorporó nuevas ideas, entre las que se cuentan algunas obras maestras.
Con más de veinte años de trayectoria, el Quinteto Astor Piazzolla ha realizado numerosas giras por Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica, Europa y Asia, ha recibido elogios unánimes de la prensa e importantes reconocimientos internacionales tales como el Grammy Latino al Mejor Album de Tango (2019).
En los últimos años la agrupación ha editado cuatro álbumes (“Revolucionario”, “Fugata”, “En 3×4” y “Triunfal”) con un sorprendente grado de destreza interpretativa, trayendo a la actualidad obras clásicas pero también las menos conocidas en el recorrido musical de Piazzolla, que suenan nuevas y frescas como si estuvieran surgiendo directamente del pensamiento del compositor.
