El golfista Ángel “Pato” Cabrera llegó este sábado a la ciudad de Córdoba, extraditado desde Brasil, para afrontar un proceso de enjuiciamiento por delitos de violencia de género denunciados por su expareja, Cecilia Torres Mana, informaron fuentes vinculadas a la causa.
El deportista cordobés, de 51 años, fue trasladado desde Río de Janeiro por personal de Interpol y, previa escala en Puerto Iguazú (Misiones), llegó hoy a la provincia, donde luego de cumplir con los exámenes médicos, permanecerá alojado en el penal de Bouwer hasta el inicio del juicio, que podría ser el 1 de julio.
Cabrera se encontraba detenido en Brasil desde el 14 de enero en una dependencia federal de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro y el pasado martes llegó extraditado a la Argentina, en un paraje de transición entre Puerto Iguazú y Foz de Iguazú.
En Córdoba deberá responder ante el tribunal de la Cámara del Crimen de Segunda Nominación por los delitos de “lesiones leves, lesiones leves calificadas, hurto y amenazas”, que surgen de dos denuncias entre 2017 y 2018.
Hasta el momento están programadas cuatro audiencias de juicio, que serían el 1, 2, 5 y 7 de julio, y que Cabrera afrontará por medios virtuales desde el penal de Bouwer.
El golfista ganador del US Open 2007 y del Masters de Augusta 2009 viajó el 20 de julio del año pasado sin autorización judicial desde su domicilio en Villa Allende hacia Estados Unidos para participar de un torneo del circuito PGA.
La Justicia advirtió su ausencia dos semanas después, a poco de establecer la fecha para el juicio y a escasos días de nuevas denuncias presentadas por su expareja, lo que motivó que se tramitara la captura internacional, que se pudo concretar el 14 de enero en Brasil.
