El sureño estado brasileño de Rio Grande do Sul confirmó la transmisión comunitaria de la variante Delta del coronavirus, considerada como la más contagiosa de las conocidas, lo que puede poner en alerta a la Argentina y Uruguay por tratarse de una región fronteriza a estos países.
El Centro Estadual de Vigilancia en Salud de Rio Grande do Sul informó en un comunicado que “el primer caso de transmisión comunitaria se da en la ciudad de Nova Bassano, en una persona que viajó a Río de Janeiro”.
Los especialistas hablan de “transmisión comunitaria” cuando ya no es posible atribuir el origen concreto del contagio.
En Rio Grande do Sul hay otros tres casos de infección por la cepa Delta, en la ciudad de Gramado, pero estos “poseen vínculo y contrajeron la Covid-19 en el municipio”, precisó el centro de vigilancia, citado por la agencia de noticias Sputnik.
