La Unión Europea de Fútbol Asociado (UEFA) informó en un comunicado que el futbolista, de 29 años, fue trasladado a un hospital de Copenhague y que experimentó una recuperación.
El episodio ocurrió a los 42 minutos del primer tiempo, momento en el que el árbitro inglés, Anthony Taylor, detuvo el partido que fue finalmente suspendido por “emergencia médica”, según publicó la entidad rectora del fútbol europeo.
Ocurrido el accidente, los jugadores del seleccionado de Dinamarca formaron de inmediato un círculo a su alrededor para impedir la captación de imágenes por parte de la televisión, que alcanzó a mostrarlo tendido sobre el césped con los ojos abiertos.
El presidente de la UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, deseó una “pronta y completa recuperación” a Eriksen.
“Momentos como este ponen todo en la vida en perspectiva. Le deseo a Christian una pronta y completa recuperación y rezo para que su familia tenga fuerza y fe”, indicó el máximo responsable de la UEFA en la cuenta oficial del organismo en Twitter.
“En estos momentos, la unidad de la familia del fútbol es muy fuerte y él y su familia llevan consigo los buenos deseos y las oraciones de todos. Escuché que los aficionados de ambos equipos corearon su nombre. El fútbol es hermoso y Christian lo juega maravillosamente”, añadió Ceferin, informó la agencia de noticias alemana Dpa.
Una imagen que circuló en las redes sociales muestra a Eriksen ya consciente, con su mano izquierda sobre la frente, cuando era retirado en camilla hacia el hospital con el aplauso del público presente en el estadio.
