El buen juego de la visita se diluyó y aparecieron las individualidades del local en mejor forma, de la mano del uruguayo De La Cruz.
Assmann tapó otro mano a mano, esta vez ante Paradela y el propio ex Gimnasia selló el 3-1 luego de una buena sociedad con el ingresado Suárez, quien retornó al equipo desde el banco de suplentes después de ocho partidos meses y estiró la ventaja con otro destello de su calidad.
