A los 61 años murió el reconocido abogado Andrés Barbieri, quien desde hacía varios días estaba internado en una clínica privada de la ciudad por un cuadro de Covid-19.
Recibido en la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Barbieri se especializó en derecho administrativo. Precisamente, fue profesor universitario a cargo de la cátedra en esa especialización del derecho.
Además de su rol como letrado, liderando un equipo en su propio estudio, tuvo una fuerte relación con la actividad política, aunque nunca como funcionario. Por ejemplo fue asesor letrado de la comuna de General Alvarado entre 1991 y 1995, durante la gestión de Carlos Molina.
Sin embargo su nombre resonó bastante en la ciudad durante el Gobierno del intendente Carlos Arroyo, ya que fue asesor en temas jurídicos de la Municipalidad. De ahí que su nombre fuera mencionado para ocupar uno de los Juzgados de Falta y también para integrar la Secretaría de Legal y Técnica.
Entre las tareas que cumplió Barbieri durante la gestión de Arroyo, fue asesor en asuntos como los beneficios recibidos por el empresario Florencio Aldrey Iglesias en gobiernos anteriores.
